 PORTES GAREX guaranties all products that it makes against any manufacturing defect due to materials or labour for a period of one (1) year beginning on the date when the product was purchased at one of its authorized dealers. |

| IN ADDITION, PORTES GAREX OFFERS EXTENDED WARRANTIES IN THE FOLLOWING CASES: |

Warranty against perforation.
PORTES GAREX guaranties its panels against perforation due to rust that may occur under normal conditions of handling and in a normal operating environment. The aluminum panels are guaranteed for life and the steel panels for 25 years. |

Warranty on residential doors.
PORTES GAREX guaranties its pale aluminum doors against delamination for a period of five (5) years and its darker aluminum doors and its steel doors for a period of one (1) year. The warranty is effective beginning on the date when the product was purchased at one of its authorized dealers. It will cover the full amount paid the first year and will decrease on a pro rata basis thereafter according to the number of years of the warranty. |

Warranty on hardware components.
PORTES GAREX guaranties the hardware components of its residential garage doors against any manufacturing defect due to materials or labour for a period of two (2) years. The warranty is effective beginning on the date of purchase at one of its authorized dealers. |

Warranty on paint.
PORTES GAREX guaranties the original paint on its aluminum doors for a period of five (5) years and guaranties the paint on its steel doors for a period of one (1) year. The warranty covers cracking and blistering. |

LIMITATION OF THE WARRANTY:
The warranty will cover the full amount paid the first year and will decrease on a pro rata basis thereafter according to the number of years of the warranty. This value of the warranty is calculated from the basic list price of the authorized dealer.
The warranty will be valid as long as the purchaser owns the home where the door is installed and as long as the purchaser retains the original bill. |

| The warranty does not apply if: |
| a) |
the product has been altered by or for the customer. |
| b) |
the product has been installed inadequately. |
| c) |
maintenance and cleaning have not been done to standards of good practice. |
|
|
| The warranty excludes: |
| a) |
all transportation expenses for the replacement product. |
| b) |
all installation and labour costs for replacement of the product. |
| c) |
all costs for loss of operations, goods, inventory, and equipment resulting from a GAREX product defect. |
| d) |
all liability for changes in model, materials, standard colours, etc. |

PORTES GAREX reserves the right to provide a product similar in quality but different in colour in the event that the product to be replaced has become discoloured or to remedy a colour-related problem.
The product or component that is changed remains the exclusive property of PORTES GAREX and must be returned to its chief place of business, at the purchaser's expense.

When buying a GAREX product, the purchaser accepts the present warranty and acknowledges it to be the sole official warranty, thereby excluding any other representation, guaranty, or condition given explicitly or implicitly by anyone whatsoever. |
| b) |
Any claim must be submitted in writing to the manufacturer in the 30 days following the discovery of the alleged defect, and received by PORTES GAREX within the warranty period, failing which the warranty will not be honoured. |
| c) |
The user of GAREX products shall carry out the annual maintenance that PORTES GAREX recommends and specifies in its installation and maintenance guide. |
